bummed about online learning? try this

a meditation for acceptance

I received a message from a parent that had a student really bummed out about starting freshmen year of high school online and knew I wanted to help out. I’ve spent the last few months feeling like every day is groundhogs day and know my students feel this too because I hear about it in my sessions. She asked for an acceptance meditation  and overcoming difficulties we face with an online school year.

This meditation has been my saving grace throughout this unknown time. It’s less than 10 minutes to relax and process feelings so that you can move through and move on from discomfort. P.S. there was a thunderstorm during the recording, which I think adds perfect ambiance!

Mind Body Medicine ⁣

Back-to-school can stir up lots of feelings and it’s basically been the focus of all my sessions since the beginning of August. A topic I’ve shared with my students is the mind body connection or how your thoughts and emotions can affect your physical condition. Not as a replacement for medical advice, but whenever I feel out of sorts in my body, I try to think of the emotional component in a literal way. Examples: ⁣

A friend said she had no appetite and I asked, “What’s eating you up?”⁣

I had heartburn and my mom asked me, “What’s burning your heart?”⁣

A student had a neck ache and I asked, “Is anyone in your life being a pain in the neck?”⁣

My hip flexors were super tight and I asked myself, “Where am I being inflexible?”⁣

Mindful questions can help you see yourself or situation from a perspective that maybe you didn’t consider before. Pay attention to how you feel physically. Butterflies in your stomach, tension headaches, tight neck and shoulders can all indicate built up feelings. Your body talks to you all day long, you just have to listen. ✨📸 by @maja_bee

I’m so happy to share my tips and tricks for how to meditate. Meditation has been proven to lower stress, help with anxiety, allow us to be more mindful in our everyday lives, but what I really love  is that it helps us establish a deeper inner relationship. When our world is chaotic and we all have so much going on, getting quiet allows us to root back into ourself. Meditation has changed my life and I want to share it with you! Click play to learn my tips for meditating!
